Highland Canine Training proudly offers a variety of dog training and dog related services in the Greater Charlotte area. We offer In Home Dog Training, Group Classes, Therapy Dog Training and Certification, Agility, Rally-Obedience and Canine Good Citizen Classes.
Highland Canine Training offers professional, effective training services based on humane, motivational techniques. We promise to treat all dogs and their owners with respect and courtesy, and encourage responsible dog ownership. Free evaluations are offered upon request.
Alison Pennington, CPT - Dog Trainer
Alison
works with our clients in the Charlotte, NC and Lake Wylie, SC areas to
assist them in training and rehabilitating problem behaviors in their dogs.
Alison works with all dogs, regardless of breed, age or problem. She trains
Therapy Dogs as well as Service and Assistance dogs. Alison teaches Private
Lessons, In-Home Training as well as group dog training classes.
Alison has worked at the Humane Society of Charlotte as a volunteer for several years. She also volunteers at Richardson Rescue in SC, where she trains, socializes and rehabilitates dogs in their foster program. She is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator/ STAR Puppy Evaluator, a Certified Therapy Dog Trainer/Instructor as well as a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Member #77479.

Dog Training Methods and Philosophy
Our Charlotte, NC trainers utilize quick and easy methods for training and teaching pet dog owners. Their approach is simple, teach dog owners how to understand and properly communicate with their dogs to create a positive, productive relationship. Some of the methods of dog training that they utilize for teaching dogs include, Clicker Training, Positive Reinforcement and motivational skills training, as well as remote collar training. Our trainers continue to further their knowledge in the dog training field by attending seminars and classes as well as working with shelter and rescue dogs.
